Second visit to the Annual Cherry Festival in Ficksburg 18-20 November 2010

In 2009 the team of JQ visited the Ficksburg Cherry Festival for the first time and had such a wonderful time that they decided that they must return to the 2010 festival.

This time round the weather played along and all had wonderful weather during the festival.  No big storms to disrupt the dayly activities as what seemed to be the norm last year.

The Porshe Club was just one of the many attractions at the event as well as the Airforce showing off some new hardware during the Saturday.

Once again the JQ wine stand seemed to be a favourite stopping point where the visitor's enjoyed the story and of course the lovely wines.  The maiden 2009 JQ “Rite of Passage” Cabernet Sauvignon seemed to be a hit with the visitors and festival stock sold out before the end of the last day.  Obviously the people recognised and appreciated the quality and value of this wine.

Next year will be just as exciting because by then the JQ range will include a Pinotage and a dry white wine for the people more intereted in that style of wine.

Rosé Still Top Seller at the 2010 MOLFees

The Musiek-op-die-land(MOL)fees is held on an annual basis on the wheatfields in or around the Swartland town of Malmesbury in the Western Cape. This was the third year that the event was held and the second time Jacob Quest wines were presented succesfully to an appreciating crowd of supporters.

Friday evening went on until late as first the Flooze and then the hard-rapping Jack Parow entertained the crowd.  Sales and appreciation of wines were constant with some cold weather putting a damper on the evening.

Saturday the weather was a lot better with nice sunshine to heat things up a bit.  With this the refreshing Jacob's Quest Wines hit the spot for the festival crowd and many new supporters were won over.  Once again the music did not dissapoint and after a full day of exciting music the weekend finished off on a high note with Heuwels-Fantasties Band.

We would like to thank each and every one who was present over the weekend and supported our stand.  We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did and remember to continue the quest...Jacob's Quest.

Soweto Wine Festival 2010

Jacob’s Quest attended the 6th annual Soweto Wine Festival that took place from the 2nd to the 4th of September 2010. Organised by the Cape Wines Academy and sponsored by Pick ‘n Pay, festival visitors were treated to two food and wine paring classes per evening in the Pick ‘n Pay Taste Theatre.

Our very own Jacob Peu was asked to present the first session of the event every evening, where he shared his passion and knowledge for wine, including the Jacob’s Quest wines.

This has been our 3rd year attending the Soweto Wine Festival and it’s interesting to see how this festival grows from year to year, from one success to the next. This year, a record number of 7548 South Africans attended the festival and tasted over 800 wines. With numbers growing so rapidly, how can we not be excited about attending the festival again next year!

We thank the Cape Wine Academy and all its sponsors for making this a festival to remember.
